Today is Patti's due date, but something else must be due. She's reached 40 weeks today and while she has been showing some signs of pre-labor for weeks, nothing has caused us to rush out to the hospital. Our offer on a house has been approved (hooray!) but not even the promise of his/her own nursery has made the baby want to move out of Mommy. Patti even worked a 12-hour shift today (hopefully her last shift for a few months).
We're grateful that our friends have let us store some things at their place to make room for baby stuff in the apartment. The apartment has become a labyrinth of birthing balls, strollers, toys, baby quilts, changing pads and a vibrating bouncy seat. Diapers and onesies are popping out of every nook and cranny in the bookshelves.
We're both wondering what will happen to the green elephant tomorrow when there's nowhere for it to go...
