There once was a girl named Patti and a boy named Patrick. They both came from small towns, but both had big dreams. As fate would have it, their paths crossed in Kenya as Peace Corps Volunteers in 1997. The rest was history.
Married in 2000 in Frederick, MD in the company of family and friends, we officially began our lives together, though we had already supported each other through some challenging times. We began concentrating on our new careers in international development while thoroughly enjoying the young professional scene of Washington, DC.

With a new nursing career for Patti at Georgetown University Hospital as a Maternal/Neonatal nurse and a stable job for Patrick as a supervisor at Peace Corps Headquarters, the time was right to embark on the next chapter of our lives together...parenthood.
